Round 2 starting in 3...2...1...

Round Two of hardmode will be starting next Friday, April 1st. The sign-ups will open then and writers will begin writing. The sign-ups will be open for the duration of the writing period (April 1st - June 3rd) so you won't need to commit until you're sure you'll be able to finish. The writing period should be far more relaxed for writers (and me!) this time.

If you haven't decided on what to write, you have a week to think it over! You may not be required to sign up until June 3rd at the latest, but it's still expected that you make use of the three month writing period.

Last round there were issues where some people waited until the last week to begin writing and that caused some issues later for betas and media creators. You will have a month of beta time, but your media creator will be working off your rough draft. However you schedule your writing time, make sure you leave yourself enough to time for pre-beta cleanup at the least so your media creator will have a something to work with. :3

Ooh, I cannot wait to do this again. I had so much fun last year (and OMG, awesome SO2 art!). Question! Are sequels okay so long as they're stand-alone, or is it okay if they're direct sequels to last year's fic? Because seriously, human!Gyoro and human!Ururun are calling my name.

Hmm...Ideally what you write should be a stand-alone. If you want to create a series to update each year, that's fine but each fic should be written in a way that doesn't require knowledge of the rest. Does that make sense?

Yep. That makes sense. ^^ It's also what I expected. I might end up shelving the SO2 fic in favor of something else this year. That's okay though. I have a week to think about it before sign ups open.

Also, will there be a post for writers and media creators to collaborate and bounce ideas back and forth or was the final decision against that? (Did I how I word that even make sense? It did to me, but... well, that's not surprising.)

...AND I FORGOT ABOUT THAT. orz Yeah. A separate post will be made for writers who want to toss their ideas out for possible media creators to jump in. The post of summaries that goes up will be from people who have opted out for whatever reason. We'll use this round as an experiment to see if it works. :)

Oh, awesome! Thank you. ^^ Hardmode has a special place in my heart, you know. It was the very first big bang I participated in, so I'm excited for round two.

.o/!! I have already finished a fic I've been saving for this year's round! I am hoping that's okay. (I'm currently knee-deep in thesis research, so I have no idea if I'll be able to write a second one just out of my own head, but I'm willing to write for a media creator, should they have something they really want to do. :D?)

Hmm...This is tricky since the fic SHOULD be written during the writing period, but if you know you won't have time and have planned ahead accordingly then you shouldn't be punished for it. In this case, yes you can turn in a fic you finished ahead time. However, if you decide to turn in the fic you're written before the challenge opened then that's the only one you'll be allowed to turn in for this round. It wouldn't be fair to others if you were able to turn in two fics when you've had twice the time to work on them.

*nods* Okay, makes sense! If for some reason I get bitten by a fic bug I'll write that instead, then! But if not I'll use my stocked one. *nods* I guess that's a definite plus of the late signups; I can see what actually happens re: my life before I decide. ^^

Glad to see this again. This community helped get a VERY old fic idea out, and it's one of the very few "longer" fics that I managed to complete.

I can't thank you enough for taking on being the media creator when you honestly didn't have to.

I have a list of ideas, now to get them "down" to see which one is most likely to see completion, so to speak. :D

I doubt I'll join in this year. I don't have any ideas for a long fic. orz But I might join up as a beta or media person.

Hmmm. I wonder if maybe I'll write something. Fic that long is rare for me, but not impossible and I have an idea about Sasarai (Suikoden series) that's been hanging around for about two years now... I guess I can't say at this point.

At the very least, I'll be hanging around and rooting for everyone else!
