Oooooooooo! This is Interesting, no doubt! I liked the twitch you gave Ezio, him having to check on his family. You took the altered Man-pain construction of angst that the game set up and muted it to an appropriate level, while still being sure to not step false and get rid of it entirely.
Ezio is...the most unlikely of apprentices. You're right, he is too old by half, and too familiar with his Master, although it seems to work for them. Ezio was reactive for pretty much the whole of AC2, even if he had the freedom to pursue his revenge as he pleased. It will be interesting to see that interact with him playing second banana to Leonardo, especially once they both learn a bit more about the Assassins. An interesting pair to set on a problem, no?
Also, I am seriously cackling about Ezio and Cristina as Cupid and Psyche in the bedroom scene! OMG! That is going to be a hard thing to pose for! (And terribly kinky, seeing as it's drops of hot wax that wake up Cupid.) Um, you probably weren't aiming for this, but the trio Christina, Leonardo, and Ezio is going to be very interesting to watch. If Christine manages her father into accepting an marriage to an artist she'll have to know about the Assassins too, right?

I'm glad I knew this was part of a larger universe you're playing with, because...*cough* I'm sorry to say, but this doesn't really have an ending, it rather just hints rather strongly at more to come. It reads like a prologue? Erm, and the female construction of beautiful in Italian is bella. Bello is the male version. But those are my only criticisms, I swear! All of this fic is wonderful, and I hope to read more of it!
